South Korea has reported 256 additional cases of COVID-19, bringing the number of infected across the country to 2,022.
Health authorities and the central disaster management headquarters said in their daily update Friday morning that Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province confirmed 182 and 49 cases, respectively.
The number of infected patients in these hotspot areas represents over 80 percent of the nationwide figure.
Seoul reported 6 additional cases, Gyeonggi Province 4 and Busan 2.
The death toll remained at 13 with no new fatalities.
The country has tested nearly 69,000 suspected cases, about 44,200 of which came back negative.
Currently, around 24,800 people are being checked for possible infection.■
