President Moon Jae-in and Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen discussed the importance of international cooperation to end the COVID-19 outbreak as soon as possible.

The two leaders on Thursday held phone talks on the pandemic and the postponement of the P4G summit on climate change that was scheduled to take place in Seoul in June.

According to Cheong Wa Dae spokesman Kang Min-seok, Moon reaffirmed Seoul's willingness to share its knowledge and clinical data with Denmark and other countries to battle the novel coronavirus.

Frederiksen said her government was looking forward to working with South Korea, especially at time when the supply of medical products, including test kits, matters.

The spokesman said Moon asked Frederiksen what Denmark needs and vowed to "actively consider" support if conditions allow.

Moon also explained that due to the spread of COVID-19, it was unavoidable to put off the P4G summit until next year.

Frederiksen expressed "full support" for the move, saying it reflected Moon's "green leadership."

Denmark hosted the inaugural Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030 summit in Copenhagen in October 2018.■
