At least 29 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus are said to be linked to a new cluster from a health product seller based in Seoul's Gwanak District.

The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said 19 more infections were added Friday.

By region, Seoul has the most cases at 18 followed by Gyeonggi with five, four in Incheon and two in South Gyeongsang.

The cluster has put health authorities on pins and needles as the elderly are the company's main customer base.

KCDC Deputy Director Kwon Jun-wook told reporters that most of the infections from the cluster are in their 60s and 70s, with the oldest patient being 86 years old.

Kwon said officials are currently in the process of tracking down nearly 180 people that visited the company for a seminar.

He also urged those who visited the company between May 21 and June 3 to get tested for the virus regardless of symptoms.

Meanwhile, at least 73 infections are now known to be linked to small church gatherings in the capital region.

Yoon Tae-ho, a senior health ministry official, called on residents in Seoul and the surrounding areas to avoid unnecessary outdoor activities this weekend and minimize face-to-face meetings to prevent the further spread of the virus.
