Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun has called on North Korea to immediately return to the dialogue table.
Chung made the remark Tuesday during a peace symposium hosted by Yonhap News.
He said he hopes the two Koreas will be able to solve issues through communication.
Chung noted relations should not return to what they were three years ago and stressed the Seoul government will do its best to stably manage the situation on the Korean Peninsula.
Inter-Korean ties have recently been strained due to fiery rhetoric and threats by the North in protest of anti-Pyongyang leaflets sent by defector groups in the South.
