Daily new virus cases in South Korea have bounced back to above 60 as cluster infections and imported cases showed no signs of letting up.
The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Wednesday confirmed 63 additional cases from the previous day, raising the total caseload to 13,244.
Among them were 30 local infections, including seven from the southwestern city of Gwangju, 11 from Gyeonggi Province and five from Seoul.
Thirty-three cases were brought in from overseas.
Imported infections remain a major stumbling block in the country's fight against the virus, with double-digit cases reported for 13 straight days.
The total tally for imported cases reached 1,747.
Health authorities are also vigilant over asymptomatic patients among arrivals, who can unknowingly spread the virus.
No coronavirus-related fatalities were reported, leaving the death toll at 285.
The KCDC said the recovery figure jumped to 11,970 after 56 patients were released the previous day.
