President Moon Jae-in visits Cheonan in South Chungcheong Province, which was hit hard by torrential rain from early August.
Eleven more regions have been designated as special disaster zones after nearly two weeks of devastating rains.
According to Cheong Wa Dae, President Moon Jae-in approved the designations on Thursday for the southern areas, including Namwon in North Jeolla Province, Naju, Gokseong and Damyang in South Jeolla Province, and Hadong and Hapcheon in South Gyeongsang Province.
Special disaster areas get state support that can cover up to 80 percent of expenditures needed for damage recovery.
Flood victims can also receive state aid for living costs and reductions in utility bills, health insurance premiums and other public fees.
Last week, the government declared seven other hard-hit central and eastern areas as special disaster zones.
