South Korea reported less than 200 new cases of COVID-19 for the 14th consecutive day on Wednesday, while cluster infections and untraceable cases continued to threat efforts to contain the spread of the virus.
The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency confirmed 113 additional cases from the previous day, including 105 local infections and eight imported from abroad, raising the overall total to 22,504.
No new fatalities were reported, keeping the death toll unchanged at 367.
The virus has been showing signs of slowing, due in part to tougher social distancing measures, but cases with unknown infection routes reached a high of 25 percent of all new cases over the past two weeks.
Meanwhile, sporadic cluster outbreaks have not let up with recent cases linked to Severance Hospital in western Seoul reaching 32 while more than 580 patients have been tied to the anti-government rally held in the downtown area last month.
Health authorities want to bring the number of daily new cases down under 100, and have highlighted the importance of public of cooperation with anti-virus rules.
