President Moon Jae-in holds a phone conversation at Cheong Wa Dae on Sept. 28, 2020.
President Moon Jae-in and German Chancellor Angela Merkel will hold phone talks on Thursday to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation.
Their call is scheduled for 6 p.m. and will likely delve into various topics including bilateral cooperation in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Cheong Wa Dae said Moon also plans to request Germany's support for South Korean Trade Minister Yoo Myung-hee's bid to lead the World Trade Organization.
The last time Moon and Merkel held direct talks was in October 2018, during a summit they held on the sidelines of the Asia-Europe meeting in Brussels, Belgium.
