South Korea has reported 75 new cases of the coronavirus, staying below 100 for the sixth straight day, although authorities continue to express concern over a possible resurgence in new infections after the long holiday.
The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency on Tuesday confirmed 66 local infections and nine imported cases from the previous day, raising the total caseload to 24,239.
The death toll remained unchanged at 422.
The daily tally has been in the double digits after hitting 133 last Wednesday.
But the decline has partially been attributed to fewer tests carried out over the five-day Chuseok period.
Despite advisories to refrain from holiday travel, around 30 million people were said to have hit the roads and skies to visit destinations across the country, triggering worries about asymptomatic spread of the virus.
Considering the incubation period for COVID-19, health officials are bracing for another wave while they battle new cluster outbreaks.
Several patients have emerged from a church in northern Seoul since Saturday, while at least 37 cases have been reported at a military base in Gyeonggi Province.
South Korea's special two-week period of toughened Level 2 social distancing will be enforced until Sunday.
