Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun has called for all-out quarantine efforts to tackle a cluster of coronavirus infections at a convalescent hospital in Busan.

Chung said on Friday he is very concerned about this latest outbreak at the medical facility that serves elderly patients during a meeting of the Central Disaster Management Headquarters held at Busan City Hall.

More than 50 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed at the hospital since Tuesday.

Two of the patients in this group have since died.

Chung urged city officials to prevent further spread of the virus, noting that even the smallest gathering of people could increase the risk of another wave.
