President Moon Jae-in has named career diplomat Kim Yong-hyon as his new presidential secretary for foreign policy.
Cheong Wa Dae said Friday that Kim was appointed to replace Park Chul-min, who has held the post since last year.
Park has been tapped as Seoul's next ambassador to Hungary.
Kim formerly served at the foreign ministry's North American Affairs Bureau and Korea's diplomatic missions in Beijing, Erbil and New York.
