Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun says there are no exceptions to the "one strike out" policy for businesses that break antivirus rules.
Chung warned in a Cabinet meeting Tuesday that violators will not only be dealt with sternly, they will not be eligible to receive the fourth round of emergency coronavirus handouts.
He cited recent reports of businesses breaching virus prevention and control measures, including a case of a nightclub in Gangnam, Seoul, that did not enforce social distancing and mask-wearing.
In regards to the launch of the country's vaccination drive on Friday, Chung said he is excited "to see the light at the end of the dark tunnel."
The prime minister called on officials to thoroughly prepare so that the campaign runs smoothly.
