Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun says there is no reason for South Korea to hesitate providing coronavirus vaccines to North Korea if certain conditions are met.
Chung told the BBC in an interview released Tuesday that cross-border health care cooperation and humanitarian assistance is always possible, but stressed that due to strained ties, Seoul is unsure how Pyongyang will respond.
North Korea claims to have had zero infections since the pandemic began last year due to its antivirus efforts and the quick closure of its borders, including those with China and Russia.
Chung added that Seoul will continue to push ahead with efforts to revive stalled dialogue with the North's regime together with the United States and Japan.
