The unification ministry says 2.3 billion won will be spent to repair a flood-damaged bridge near the heavily-fortified border with North Korea.
The Bima Bridge, located in Cheorwon, Gangwon Province, was destroyed by heavy rains and flooding last year.
A civilian-government committee on Thursday approved the decision to use inter-Korean cooperation funds for the operation.
The bridge is used for a South Korean trekking route in the area, which has been suspended due to concerns over the spread of African swine fever and COVID-19.
