President Moon Jae-in says he will make efforts to get the Korean Peninsula peace process back on track when he meets with U.S. President Joe Biden in Washington next month.

The two leaders are scheduled to hold bilateral talks in late May, the exact date of which has yet to be determined.

President Moon told his key aides during a meeting at Cheong Wa Dae on Monday that it's time for reflection amid stalled inter-Korean and U.S.-North Korea negotiations.

He emphasized ongoing diplomatic efforts to restore dialogue.

Moon said he and Biden will also discuss other issues of mutual concern, including economic cooperation and the COVID-19 pandemic.
