President Moon Jae-in is set to join world leaders for a summit on climate change hosted by U.S. President Joe Biden.
The virtual two-day meeting will kick off at 9 p.m. Thursday, Seoul time.
According to Cheong Wa Dae, Moon will unveil South Korea's plan to cut greenhouse gas emissions more drastically.
The president also plans to declare the country's strong commitment to phase out coal power use.
It will be Moon's first meeting with Biden, albeit online, since the U.S. leader took office in January.
Moon is expected to visit Washington in late May for his first face-to-face with Biden.
Chinese President Xi Jinping also plans to take part in the first session of the climate meeting along with two dozen other heads of state.
