Cheong Wa Dae's National Security Council vowed on Thursday to do all it can to help coronavirus-infected sailors make a speedy recovery.
The council's standing committee discussed the cluster from the anti-piracy Cheonghae unit during a meeting at presidential office.
The called on the military to come up with measures to prevent a recurrence among other deployed units.
A total of 271 sailors from the Munmu the Great destroyer, which was on a mission off the coast of Africa, have been diagnosed with COVID-19.
They returned home earlier this week and are currently under quarantine at hospitals and community treatment centers.
