President Moon Jae-in has said that for the remainder of his term in office, he and his administration will focus on ending the COVID-19 crisis and doing all they can to protect people's livelihoods.
Moon made the pledge in a regular Cabinet meeting on Tuesday as he laid out major policy goals for the rest of his term, which ends in May 2022.
He called on government ministries and agencies to redouble their efforts to bring the coronavirus outbreak in the country under control.
The president said he feels a great sense of responsibility for the difficult times people are going through because of the pandemic.
Moon stressed that he will also make job creation a top priority, adding that government will make bold investments to create new jobs in new fields such as artificial intelligence and big data.
