South Korea will formally open a consulate on the Indonesian resort island of Bali on Friday.
Seoul's foreign ministry said the move is aimed at providing better consular services to overseas Koreans as travel rebounds.
A temporary diplomatic mission began operations in March to support COVID-19 vaccinations and passport services for Korean nationals.
As a major tourist hotspot in the Southeast Asian nation, Bali drew 213,000 Koreans in 2019 before the pandemic, according to government data.
