North Korea said on Friday that it has released all but three foreigners from its coronavirus quarantine.
The North's state-run Korean Central News Agency said, "All foreigners except three have been released from quarantine as of March 19 after sufficient medical monitoring and examination and being confirmed with no symptoms."
Earlier, it said 380 foreigners were under quarantine.
The KCNA also reported that people under quarantine were released across the country, including 1,500 in South Pyongan Province and more than 1,000 in North Pyongan Province, totaling around 8,300, based on previously cited figures.
Although North Korea has not reported any case of COVID-19, it has called for nationwide efforts to prevent the virus from breaking out within its borders.
There is widespread worry over the situation in the North since it shares a long, porous border with China and lacks key medical supplies and the infrastructure to test and treat infected people.
