A North Korean man believed to be an army deserter has reportedly been detained by Chinese authorities for allegedly killing four Chinese citizens.
According to an unconfirmed source that was cited in South Korean media, the attack took place late last month in the Chinese border town of Nanping.
The North Korean was said to have killed the Chinese citizens in their homes during an apparent robbery.
He was then reportedly captured after a manhunt.
Chinese authorities and the country's state-run media have not commented on the alleged incident.■
