Toyota says it is investing a billion dollars into the ride-sharing company Grab.
In a statement, the Japanese automaker said the deal is aimed at achieving connectivity for Grab's rental car fleet across Southeast Asia.
Grab, which is headquartered in Singapore, is a leading player in the ride-share industry in Asia.
Earlier this year, Grab agreed to acquire U.S. giant Uber's regional operations.■
