The government says it will extend the mission of two military jets it sent to Indonesia to help in recovery efforts after a powerful earthquake and ensuing tsunami hit the central island of Sulawesi last month.
The cargo planes were dispatched to Sulawesi on September 28th to support emergency aid supplies.
Seoul's foreign ministry said the government has decided to extend its mission, which was supposed to end today, until later this month at the request of Indonesian authorities.
The disaster left more than 2,000 people dead and tens of thousands of others displaced.■
