The Korean Sport & Olympic Committee named on Wednesday volleyball veteran Kim Yeon-koung and teen swimming sensation Hwang Sun-woo as the country's flagbearers for the opening ceremony of the Tokyo Games.
Kim will be competing at her third and likely final Olympics.
Hwang, meanwhile, will be making his Olympic debut at the age of 18.
He will race in four events, including the 100-meter freestyle.
Team South Korea aims to bring home at least seven gold medals and be included in the top 10 in overall standings like the past four Summer Olympics.
An official launch ceremony for the team is scheduled to be held Thursday.
