Big Hit Entertainment, best known for representing global sensation BTS, says it has acquired Pledis Entertainment, which manages boy bands NU`EST and Seventeen.
In a statement Monday, Big Hit said it became the largest stockholder of Pledis in an effort to diversify its business portfolio.
Under the deal, Pledis will maintain its independence even after the acquisition but its artists will be supported by Big Hit’s management system.
Other K-pop acts under Pledis' wing include girl groups After School and Orange Caramel.
