South Korean rapper Iron has died at the age of 28.

According to police, a security guard found Iron, whose real name is Jung Hun-cheol, unconscious at 10:25 a.m. Monday at his apartment in Seoul's Jung-gu District.

He was transported to a nearby hospital but later died.

He was detained last year for allegedly beating his roommate with a baseball bat.
