"Heaven: To the Land of Happiness," the latest film by Im Sang-soo, will open this year's Busan International Film Festival (BIFF).
It will be the film's world premiere, the festival said Thursday.
"Heaven" is a road movie about two men, played by veteran actors Choi Min-sik of "Old Boy" and Park Hae-il of "The Host," who coincidentally meet and end up on a journey, dreaming of making a new start in life.
Academy Award-winning actress Youn Yuh-jung plays a supporting role as the glamorous and unique Madam Youn.
The film, Im's first project in six years, was an official selection for the 2020 Cannes Film Festival, which was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 26th BIFF will be held on October 6-15.
