Tottenham Hotspur’s Son Heung-min returns to S. Korea to continue rehab amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Tottenham Hotspur's star Son Heung-min has returned to South Korea to continue his rehab for a fractured arm.
According to sources cited by Yonhap News on Monday, Son returned home on Saturday due to the spread of the coronavirus in Britain.
Son suffered a broken right forearm during a Premier League match against Aston Villa on February 16 and underwent surgery in Seoul five days later.
He returned to London earlier this month and was scheduled to rejoin Tottenham for training on March 16, but the spread of COVID-19 suspended Premier League action and also forced the Spurs to shutter their training center.
In light of the situation, Son chose to head back to Seoul.
Since he arrived from Europe, he is required by the South Korean government to self-isolate for 14 days.■
