South Korean archer An San has captured gold in the women's individual event at the Tokyo Olympics.
At the final at Yumenoshima Park Field on Friday, An defeated Elena Osipova of the Russian Olympic Committee in a shootout with a set score of 6-5.
Earlier, the 20-year old, who made her Summer Games debut, topped the podium in the mixed team and women's events to become the first archer ever to claim three gold medals at a single Olympics.
She is also the first South Korean triple gold medalist at a Summer Olympics as well as the first athlete to take home three gold medals in Tokyo.
In other action, shooter Kim Min-jung grabbed a silver medal in the women’s 25-meter pistol earlier in the day.
She finished second to Vitalina Batsarashkina of the Russian Olympic Committee in the final.
As Day 7 of the competition is wrapping up, South Korea remains in 7th place with five gold, four silver and five bronze medals.
