Cha Jun-hwan became on Sunday the first South Korean male figure skater to capture a title at the Four Continents Championships.
Cha earned a new personal-best score of 273.22 points to clinch gold in the men's singles event at the competition in Estonia
The win brightened hopes for a medal at his second career Winter Games appearance in Beijing next month.
At the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics, Cha placed 15th, the best performance ever by a South Korean man in the sport.
