• (12PM) Subway Line 4 Services Resume After Train Derailment
Seoul Metro and KORAIL said all subway services on Line 4 were back on schedule as of 10:23AM.

Transit authorities said a subway train fell off the tracks at 5:12AM this morning as it was traveling between Sookmyung Women's University Station to Samgakji Station.

Only the first car of the ten carriage subway had derailed.

The train was not carrying any passengers and was heading to the Siheung Depot for an inspection, after a problem was found last night at 11:50PM.

Authorities say there were been no serious injuries from the accident.

KORAIL said emergency crews were able to replace the train's wheels and tow it back to Seoul Station.

Earlier, subway services southbound from Seoul Station to Sadang station were completely halted, causing massive inconveniences to morning commuters.

The incident underscores the rising number of subway accidents with KORAIL's aging fleet of subway trains.

Including today, at least three accidents have been confirmed this past week, alone.

Seoul Metro has previously said that it has delayed replacing some trains which have surpassed their 25-year service life due to budget constraints.
