A fire broke out at Jamsil Saenae Station this morning, forcing the evacuation about 100 passengers.
The fire was put out within 30 minutes and operations on Line 2 returned to normal after 50 minutes.
No passenger injuries were reported, but Seoul Metro may face criticism as testimonies showed the operator requested passengers to stay inside the train initially at the outbreak of the fire.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.■
