A Seoul court has slapped a woman with a rare jail term for secretly photographing a male nude model and sharing it on the Internet.
The 25-year-old figure-drawing model was sentenced to 10 months in jail for taking nude photos of her male colleague at a Seoul art college and posting them online in May.
The Seoul Western District Court also ordered the defendant, identified only by her surname Ahn, to undergo a 40-hour therapy session on sexual violence.
The ruling sparked controversies online as male offenders have mostly been only fined or received suspended terms.
The country has been battling a growing epidemic of spycam videos, which largely involve men secretly filming women in offices, trains, toilets and on the street.■
