[Report]
The Korean Embassy in Katmandu has confirmed that the bodies of five Korean climbers killed in a snowstorm on Mount Gurja have been found.
The embassy says nine members of a climbing team died on Mount Gurja after a fierce storm hit their base camp Friday evening at 3,500 meters above sea level.
An ensuing landslide buried the camp as the climbers waited for better weather to head to the high camp, according to eyewitnesses interviewed by sherpa.
The Associated Press had earlier reported that the five climbers and four Nepalese guides went missing after the storm.
The AP also says Nepal sent rescue helicopters early Saturday morning but they couldn't land due to poor weather.
The Korean Foreign Ministry will cooperate with the Nepalese government to repatriate the five bodies.
