Cold wave advisories and warnings are in place in the central regions and north Gyeongsang Province.

Seoul experienced the coldest morning this season, starting off at -11.4 degrees Celsius.

Gangwon Provinces Cheorwon and Mount Seorak experienced -20 degrees.

Temperatures stayed below the freezing point during the afternoon, with strong gusty winds making it feel even some degrees colder.

The mercury is forecast to drop further tomorrow in some regions, with the capital's morning low predicted at -12 degrees.

While most heavy snow advisories in the west coast regions have been lifted as the snowfall has become weaker or stopped, there is more precipitation expected overnight along the west coast and the mountainous regions in Jeju.

Up to 7 centimeters of additional snow could pile up until tomorrow morning.

Meanwhile the current cold snap is expected to last through Monday, before temperatures should gradually warm up beginning Tuesday.
