A recent survey shows three in four South Koreans support cancelling a permission of incorporation for the Shincheonji religious sect where a majority of the country's COVID-19 cases have been reported.
Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon recently vowed to push for terminating the church's incorporation registered in the capital city as it did not properly cooperate with health authorities for efforts to contain the outbreak of the virus.
The Realmeter survey commissioned by TBS found 77.7 percent of respondents said they were for the idea while 15.5 percent were against it.
More supporters than opponents were found regardless of age group, region and political views.
