Scheduled court trials in Seoul have been suspended after a guard at the Seoul Detention Center tested positive for COVID-19.
According to the justice ministry, officials at the detention center immediately disinfected the facility and quarantined other employees and inmates.
The Seoul High Court also shut down all courtrooms at its main building for disinfection for the first time in history while the Seoul Central District Court delayed a number of hearings scheduled for Friday to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
Six officers who were in close contact with the infected guard have all tested negative.
