A Korean-language graph shows 70.3 percent of South Koreans support the government's introduction of a QR code electric registration system.
Seven out of ten South Koreans are in support of the government's recent decision to introduce a digitized registry of visitors at entertainment establishments in an effort to better track down potential COVID-19 patients.
According to a Realmeter survey commissioned by TBS, 70.3 percent of respondents said they are in favor of the move as it will make contact tracing easier, while 16.5 percent responded otherwise citing possible privacy invasion.
The survey was conducted Wednesday on over 500 adults nationwide and had a margin of error of plus or minus 4.4 percentage points at a 95 percent confidence level.
On Monday, the government decided to require clubs, bars and singing rooms to use the QR scanning system starting mid-June, after experiencing difficulties tracking down patients linked to the recent Itaewon outbreak as many gave false personal details in visitor logs.
