Heavy rainfall and flooding across the country have left at least four people dead.

According to the Central Disaster Management Headquarters, downpours and strong winds on Thursday continued overnight, causing significant damage.

Three people were found dead in their vehicles after they got stuck in a flooded underpass in Busan's Dong-gu District.

In Ulsan, authorities recovered the body of a man who went missing after being swept away by rising waters near a swollen stream.

Torrential rain also flooded some 300 private facilities, including homes, mostly in Busan.

Busan Station was also shut down temporarily due to flooding, but subway services have since normalized.

Authorities remain on alert as more rain is exepcted Friday afternoon.
