Data shows 73 percent of all coronavirus cases on Jeju Island were reported in December.
According to the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, 222 of the total 304 infections recorded as of Wednesday were identified this month.
The island tallied 26 cases through July and then reported another 20 in August, 13 in September, none in October and 22 last month.
On Tuesday, Jeju confirmed 22 new infections, the highest daily figure since the pandemic began.
They were tied to clusters from churches, schools and cafes.
Local health officials have been urging people who visited any facilities linked to COVID-19 cases to get tested regardless of symptoms.
