Police have requested an arrest warrant for Hanjin Group Chairman Cho Yang-ho for the second time on charges of breach of trust.
Cho, who is also CEO of Korean Air, is accused of siphoning off some 3 billion won of company funds to renovate his house in central Seoul a few years ago.
The 68-year-old has been denying any wrongdoing, saying he was unaware of the misappropriation.
Last month, the prosecution turned down the first request by police, saying that further investigation is needed to substantiate the charges.■
