Travelers from China will have to download mobile application to report health status while in South Korea
All travelers who enter South Korea from China will have to download a mobile application to report their health status while in the country.
Starting today, all travelers from China must download the so-called Self-Diagnosis App on their smartphones and use it to send daily updates on their condition.
Government authorities will check to make sure the app is installed during the special immigration process at airports and seaports before giving clearance to enter the country.
A text message will be sent daily at 10 a.m. to remind people to enter their diagnostic information, including symptoms such as coughing, sore throat and shortness of breath.
Failure to report via the app will result in a phone call by quarantine officials and if no contact is made, local authorities and law enforcement will be dispatched to locate violators.■
