KCDC Director Jung Eun-kyeong
Local health authorities say they will decide whether to bring charges against the country's 15th confirmed coronavirus patient, who violated self-quarantine regulations, after police decide on the man's fate.
Jung Eun-kyeong, the director of the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said today the patient did in fact have a meal with South Korea's 20th patient when he was under self-quarantine.
The 20th patient is a sister-in-law of the 15th patient.
Jung said if they do decide to punish the 43-year-old man, the KCDC will report him, adding it could lead to an investigation by police and prosecutors.
She said violators of self-quarantine regulations could face a fine of less than 3 million won.■
