TBS’ Top-Ranked Program “Kim OuJoon’s News Factory”
TBS FM's current affairs program "Kim OuJoon's News Factory" has been rated the number one radio show in the Seoul metropolitan region.
According to a poll conducted by Hankook Research, the morning show that runs five days a week recorded a 14.7 percent listenership, the highest record for a radio program since the pollster began the survey in 2011.
It was followed by TBS' 10-minute newscast at 8 a.m. with 9.6 percent listenership, marking the first time for a news update to achieve such a high ranking.
The broadcaster's other major programs, Choi Il-gu's "Hurricane Radio" and Kim Ji-yoon's "Evening Show" were tied at 25th, while Joo Jin-woo's "Out of the Blue" topped the list among radio programs aired at 8 p.m.
The radio station, meanwhile, enjoyed a 18.3 percent audience share overall, ranking second among 20 broadcasters surveyed.
TBS President Lee Kang-taik said the achievement was more meaningful as it was the first “report card” it received since it became an independent media foundation early this year.
The survey was conducted for two weeks from April 7 on 3,000 listeners aged between 13 to 69 who listen to the radio for more than five minutes a day in Seoul and the surrounding metropolitan area.
The poll had a margin of error of 1.8 percentage points at a 95 percent confidence level.
