Last month was the hottest June on record in South Korea.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration Friday, the highest temperature was 28 degrees Celsius while the average was 22.8 degrees.
They marked the highest readings since related data was first compiled in 1973.
Compared to previous years, the readings were 1.5 degrees and 1.6 degrees hotter, respectively.
This June also saw two days of heat waves, another record, and the mercury dropped to 18.4 degrees for the lowest level since 2013.
