Another day of sweltering heat is in store Thursday.
The Korea Meteorological Administration says temperatures will hover between the 20s and low 30s, with the mercury in Seoul to hit 33 degrees Celsius.
The weather agency recommends drinking plenty of water and avoiding outdoor activities, if possible.
Residents in the capital region, Busan and Ulsan should also take precautions against high levels of fine dust.
Meanwhile, rain is expected to fall over Jeju Island and areas along the southern coast of South Jeolla and South Gyeongsang provinces in the afternoon.
Showers are forecast to spread to the rest of the nation Friday.
