Students preparing to take the national college entrance exam next week have been urged to stay away from busy public spaces and minimize spending time with friends before the test.

Education Minister Yoo Eun-hae appealed for caution during a press briefing Thursday, calling on young people to follow COVID-19 guidelines in order to avoid infection.

She said test-takers should even distance themselves from their parents and family.

More than 493,000 students are expected to take the College Scholastic Ability Test on December 3, including high school seniors infected with the disease and those under self-isolation.

The education ministry said as of this morning there are 21 students with COVID-19 and 144 in isolation who are planning to take the exam.
