A woman was arrested in the city of Incheon for spreading misinformation about coronavirus vaccines.
The Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency said Friday that it booked the 68-year-old woman after she allegedly posted over 30 flyers with messages such as "There are chips planted inside the vaccines" and "Vaccines will kill you" at bus stops, on utility poles and information boards around the city earlier this month.
She was apprehended by the Incheon Nonhyun Police Station on Feb. 15, a day after a civilian report on the flyers came in, and her case was later transferred to the metropolitan police agency.
Police said the woman claimed to be illiterate and thought the leaflets were about Christian doctrines.
She was found to have received the flyers from a church in Daejeon.
The investigation is still ongoing.
