Drivers in South Korea should be aware that from this weekend, the speed limit on general city roads across the country will be lowered to 50 kilometers per hour.
The speed limit on side streets and alleys will also be reduced to 30 kilometers per hour.
The National Police Agency, along with the safety and transport ministries, said changes come under a revised road traffic law that will take effect on Saturday.
Currently, the speed limit on city roads ranges between 60 and 80 kilometers per hour, and between 40 to 50 kilometers on side streets, with the exception of school zones.
