People over the age of 75 in South Korea started receiving their second shot of the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine Thursday.
The two-dose regimen is administered 21 days apart, according to the government's vaccination task force.
Immunizations for this age group, which accounts for almost 3.5 million people, kicked off on April 1.
As of Wednesday, only 15 percent of them, or over 524,000 people, had received their first shot.
Just over 1.9 million adults, or 3.4 percent of the country's 52 million population, have been administered their first dose of a COVID vaccine.
